And So Was Born Darkness & Light

And So Was Born Darkness & Light

I'm standing at the beginning of a wave and the end of a cascade of promise. As far away as eternity is the horizon, the beginning, the end, a seperation between hope and futility. It is in this place that the sun and moon dance their way into the exchange of light and dark as the world readies itself for the beginning of each new day.

Once upon a time lived two young orbs, the Sun and the Moon, young with spirit and recklessness dancing away their days in a fever of abandon among the twinkling of planets and stars scattered throughout the heavens. Their never ending passion caused a breath stopping spectacular showcase of golden and silvery light wherever they went and one could only look upon it momentarily so great was its depth.

The Gods in the thrones of their kingdoms looked upon the two fondly, but after milleniums of flight and fancy began to frown upon their follies. For every celestial being should not waste their greatness in pursuit of self elation and abandon.

The great kings of the heavens called the two before them chastising their lack of humility and promise, but so young and free of spirit the echos of their laughter is all the Gods were rewarded.

The Gods became angry at the two petulant, wayward orbs and so dissapointed were they that the heavens resounded with the clashing sounds of thunder and lightening and the skies were black with their mood.

And yet so childlike were the pair that the anger of the heavens did not deter their spirited laughter. The Gods were filled with hostility and anger little seen before and they vowed to punish the two sending them into seperate universes for the entirety of eternity.

The two sprites were filled with desolation and despair and their pitiful wails filled the skies. The kings in their heavens remained unmoved. It was many eternal nights that the two languished and cried and their light eventually began to wane. The heavens appeared dim without the two glowing orbs and the happiness of all began to falter. The spirit of the universe was just as black and forlorn as the two seperated orbs. Fearing the end of all, the kings came together in desperation and sat in council. It was then the decision was made that the two should work together to provide light and darkness, morning and evening, night and day. When one does not fill the skies with their light, the other will, cascading their energy and brilliance upon the earth and all those ruled by the heavens and the kingdom of the Gods.

So now if you look carefully you will find that when the two spiral towards and away from each other at the end of the day, the horizon is painted with their passion in colors of pink, scarlet, gold and crimsons as they spend the eternity of their days in love and the promise of seeing each other once again.
